Alas, I do have an early memory that comes to mind that I feel will give you some truly real insight on me, Summer Felix.
I remember going to pre-school. Like, it was the first time my mom was leaving me alone somewhere and as luck would have it, it was the first time that I, ummm. It was the first time that I saw a uhhh….
A little boy’s penis.
Because there was this door that was open and this little boy that was probably potty-training just standing there with his pants down and I was like Whoa!
For the record, I really hope there is a child psychologist out there that can diagnose what it means when I allow this to be my first memory. Also, dying to hear yours and I am betting my inheritance that yours wont be as inappropriate as mine.

I am with you, Summer, I think people who say they remember their first memory are making it up. Having said that, this I do remember.
I grew up in New York City and there was a program that took city kids out of the city during the summer, to the country. City families signed up and were matched (not really matched, just sent to some family that signed up) to a family in the country. My twin sister and I were off, tags on our shirts, sitting on a train, totally unaware of where we were going. We ended up in Harrisburg, Pa and at the train depot, we were separated and went off with two different families. I screamed and cried , would not eat or sleep for two days until they brought my sister to me, and then family I was with kept us both for the two weeks. I remember that a photo of me, screaming my head off, was published in the local paper. We were four and a half.
Keep that psychologist on retainer, because I think I just figured out a piece of the puzzle as to why I have abandonment issues.
