I have a feeling my wacky neighbor could be a relatable one. She never ever ever ever ever ever stops talking. Ever. Lucky for many of us, her child also attends our school, so she manages to corner us on our block AND in our school parking lot. And let me tell you, if you are cornered by her, you will hear all about her latest dental work, her rash and every last detail of her menstrual cycle…
Just the other day I received a text from a different neighbor claiming she’d been “Nancy’d.” Apparently, pulling into her garage from the grocery store, she didn’t close the door fast enough, because there was Nancy, inside her garage, talking at light speed through my other neighbor’s rolled up car window.
Here’s the thing. I enjoy being friendly and social. I love to make eye contact and smile as often as possible. So, it’s quite a test on my social skills to dart my eyes away and duck my head to avoid being Nancy’d.
We all have some form of a Nancy, right? Please, tell me I’m not alone here?
