If you could time travel to any year, which one would you choose and why?
Only choose one year? How unfair is this writing prompt, right? I mean, my knee jerk reaction screams out to type any year in the 1980’s because well, you know, just because. Umm, hello Like A Virgin? Need I say more?
But then I think about how much I would love the 1940’s or the 1920’s. The fashion was gorgeous, and I feel like both of these decades were such turning points for mankind. So many changes and growth were happening to our society and I would love to be a part of that. It would also mean I could see my grandparents when they were young and I have always wondered what they were like when they were my age.
And of course, there’s always the medieval times with all of the royalty, castles and drama. I would only do this time period if I could be transported to Europe though.
The ancient Roman era would be interesting, too. Sounds like it was a wild party time and I need to find and observe our founding party people. I’d also like to thank them for allowing us to party with togas on in college (and maybe even after college a time or two).
I’ll admit, I enjoy when my kids read and tell me about the Magic Tree House Series. Have you heard of it? Siblings transport to a different era in their magic treehouse. Wouldn’t that be pretty incredible to have in your own backyard?
