It’s Writing Tip Tuesday and this week, it’s time to pick up a book and read.
Odds are, if you do not have the time to read, you do not have the time to write. When you read, you learn new techniques and styles that will help you with your own writing. It doesn’t matter what it is; just pick up a book, a magazine, or even a blog and start reading.
By reading something well-written, you’ll find yourself inspired to work even harder to improve your own writing and by reading the bad stuff floating around out there, you’ll have more practice with recognizing the things that just simply don’t work.
When you’re reading, you can’t control where your mind will take you and by the time you’re done, you will be filled with endless ideas and possibilities to write about. The more you read, the more your writing will improve – guaranteed.
