One of the most important things to remember when you are a writer is to always do it for yourself. Ideally, writing should bring you happiness. If you are just doing it strictly for the money or making a name for yourself, instead of writing for the joy and satisfaction you get from doing it, then you may want to reconsider why you put pen to paper, or fingertip to keyboard, at all.
Even if you make your living as a writer, it shouldn’t feel like work. (Sometimes this is easier said than done, I know!) Being inspired and happy about what you write will always be reflected in your words. So, take a moment and re-visit those feelings you had when you first started writing and make them a priority again.
