I will never forget the magnitude of 9/11. I remember my mother waking me up. The ring of the phone had urgency. “We’ve been attacked!” She was hysterical.
Much of our family lives in New York. We had cousins who worked right there. My west coast family gathered together and we didn’t leave the tv for days, looking for each minute to deliver assurance.
But as they did for our family, they continued to bring devastation to others.
Something very powerful came from that day that loves on. A greater sense of appreciation.
We will never forget those families and today, I feel enormous gratitude for mine.
PS A huge thank you to my incredible art team at The Draw Shop for this meaningful drawing.
