For about 6 months, I’d been planning a surprise. My parents were married 50 years Valentine’s Day. Anyone who knows me knows how much I worship my parents. Anyone who knows my parents knows how incredible they are as parents and as people. Together, they are a dynamite couple.
In my 37 years of life they have given so much to their friends, family and of course, me. It seemed fitting to give back and celebrate the two of them. And so we did. And it was all a huge surprise. Their friends from the east coast and around the country flew in. Friends and family here drove in. It began with a party Friday night and a viewing of this video 🙂
Then wine tasting on a party bus the next day, brunch at our house on Sunday and we capped it off with dinner at George’s in La Jolla Monday night. It felt like a destination weekend wedding affair. Their were tears, laughs and tons of love. It was a perfect Valentine’s weekend. And I had the best man ever help with it all and shower me with love and flowers.
I have to admit. A day at home watching movies and doing nothing would be a dream. But, no rest for the weary. It was time to get back to the kids, work, and some travel for meetings. In fact, by the looks of my calendar, ain’t nothing dying down soon.
