Yes, we had lice. Yes, we had the stomach flu.
When you are in the midst of sickness and feeling totally house bound, it feels as if it will never end. And then suddenly, that moment comes when no one is puking (and other things), the last load of laundry has finally been done and wait, could it really be? No stomach pain and… an appetite?!
Being Italian and Puerto Rican, food is a big deal in terms of celebrating life and everything that’s awesome. When I feel sick and don’t have an appetite, it’s a bad sign. I feel lifeless. It was an incredible day being out of the woods (aka sick household). The morning came and it was time to see my sweet little twirly skirt girl sing in her first performance and thank gawd! she was healthy.
After that, it was time to turn them over to their dad and his new baby girl. Yes, announcement! There is a new baby in town and Logan and Chloe are big brother and sister to an adorable little girl.
I left the parking lot of the recital and I took a deep sigh. The past 2 weeks were over. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself.
Until I knew exactly what to do with myself.
I drove home. I threw on some hiking gear and I trekked. The weather was amazing. Views of the ocean breathtaking. I was alone and I listened to a book on tape while I walked and walked and walked. I was so entirely grateful for this calm and so enjoying the feeling of health and strength.
Then it was a girl filled weekend of happy hour, spa time, pool time and then plane ride to visit my crew at The Draw Shop.
After the storm, indeed, came the calm… and now all is back to normal.
