First, I have a list of blog topics to go to when I am stumped on what to write or I’m not ready to put out there what’s lurking inside. Instead of putting it off or not doing it at all, I use this list.
And so today’s topic is about your home right now.
What does your home look like right now and how do you feel about it? Do you have stuff all over the place? Would you just die of embarrassment if someone turned up unannounced? Or would you not care either way?
Is your home spotless? Do you have every item in it’s place? Are you ready at all times to entertain?
Or maybe you are like me. My house is pretty clean. About half the beds are made. There’s probably a butter knife on the counter and half drunk cup of coffee left in one of the bathrooms alongside make-up, toothbrush and a hair brush. There’s a pile of dirty clothes waiting to be washed and maybe some of the kid’s “creative projects” left about. The recycle bin is full and there’s most definitely a thirsty plant and a tupperware of leftovers in the fridge that really needs to be thrown out. It’s not so bad. But, anyone who knows me knows it’s not my ideal. You know that I like to be on top of laundry, have stuff in it’s place, and to be clean (no stickiness please, no hair in the sink).
With a household like ours filled with all kinds of sports equipment and six different schedules, I’d say we do pretty good.
So, nope, I’m not embarrassed, but yep, I’d like that laundry to be done already!
What’s interesting, though, is what your mess and your typical state of your home can say about you…
