People seek out mediums, psychics, clairvoyants and intuits to receive advice on what decisions they should make.
Should I take the job?
Should I buy the house?
Do I break up with him?
Is she the one for me?
Or just simply to find out, What’s going to happen to me?!!!!
I happen to be one who can get into all that kind of stuff as a great form of entertainment and total curiosity. I certainly have my own intuition that has served quite well… even if I didn’t follow it. I find truth in the stars aligning just right (sometimes). I believe in energy shifts, mercury retrograde, and anything that might seem a little “out there.” I don’t rule it out and often times there is irony and coincidence and just plain… Whaaa??? How did she…??? Wait… whaaa???
But, the best form of “prediction” comes from one thing that proves itself over and over and over again…. History. It repeats itself.
What you allow, will continue.
As a writer and storyteller, you know this well. It’s like you just can’t help it. As much as you try to tweak a story to go a certain way, history has made it so that the same actions will yield the same result until something changes. We’ve all heard the definition of insanity, right? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Like when your kid gives you that cute smile, you assume he’s learned his lesson and is super sorry for lying about his test, so you let him play the video game you just swore two days ago he could not play until his grades were up. Then surprise, bad report card …AGAIN!
Or the friend who is always in need of money. She asks. You say, “Sorry, but no.” She gets angry, calls you names and tells you, you are not a good friend and then a week later comes back with, “Hey, I hate it when we fight. Can we be friends again?” You say yes. She acts real sweet and interested in your life, says all the right things to suck you and then hits you with the question again. “I just need like $500.” You say yes this time followed with, “Okay, only this one time, but be nice, okay?” “Of course,” she replies. Until she needs it again and the cycle repeats itself.
Or how about this one? “I’m really going to start that hard core workout on Monday. Yep, Monday is the day. This weekend I can do whatever I want, because Monday I start kickboxing like a mad man.” Monday comes, you go to class, you eat fairly well. Then Tuesday happens. Stress at work! Stress with the kids! Oh my gosh, there is a leak in the house! And suddenly it becomes the tuesday through sunday binge with another Monday start – for like the 20th time.
There is proof in history and you can use it as a prediction. You don’t even need the psychic. Just use your brain. History and cycles will repeat over and over again. What’s happening in your life that you want to change and what will it take for you to break the pattern?
Nothing will change, if nothing changes…
