I like this guy. He might even be on my “if you could choose to have one meal with someone…” list. Accomplishing more by doing less runs deep in my blood. One interesting example of this is the evolutionary path of one Mr. Henry Ford. Consider where the automobile would be had he not began to market the “Horseless Carriage” until it was perfected.
Everyday, I see all too many budding entrepreneurs spend endless periods of time readying their innovations, only to see them miss vital windows and blow life changing opportunities. The Model “A’s and T’s” were presented to the public with more glitches and needed refinements than can be counted. However, their immediate emergence to the market created an enormous thirst and subsequently the auto market was given an immediate birth long before it would have had we waited for all the I’s to be dotted and T’s to be crossed.
A perfectionist many of us may be. We want it to be right. But it is those that act spontaneously that set the pace and create the platform for innovation. They are the pioneers who didn’t fear the trail but embraced it. They are the seeds of progress that have not only accomplished more with less but have also inspired many others to follow.
Don’t wait for the story to be perfect. Just write.
Don’t wait for the product to be perfect. Just launch.
Perfect doesn’t exist. There is always need for improvement, but you won’t know that until you get feedback from putting it out there.
What are you sitting on? What are you going to do and why are you waiting?
