“That’s so not fair!” Says all of us at least once in our lives.
We’ve said it numerous times as a kid. If he gets four squares of chocolate then it is only fair that we get just as many. Never mind that the same kid might have had an entire chocolate bar before you saw him.
Then we grow up, and most of us are probably still guilty of declaring or even just thinking it’s not fair.
“I worked ten times as hard as she did, why did she get a raise?”
Today’s Monday madness is about fairness… the illusion of it.
The illusion of fairness gives us an excuse to be inconsiderate. We take a life situation and we use the unfairness that we feel is happening to us as an excuse to why we can’t be all that.
If you really examine fairness, you can see how it crumbles right away. We’ve all heard that life isn’t fair and yet still we get upset when the playing field isn’t at the same level as someone else.
Given that fairness is an illusion, I challenge you to consider something you deemed unfair recently and… reconsider.
