I’ve gone to the gym. I’ve gotten the kids off to school. I made coffee (in my new Keurig). I washed my hair. I’ve plowed through my emails and answered the pressing ones. I checked my list of things to do before it’s time to head back to school (short day), co-lead a Brownie meeting, get home, do homework, take a couple late afternoon phone meetings, listen to my daughter’s voice lesson, make dinner and then collapse.
But in between the washed hair and getting back to school, I’m going to write this blog. And today’s blog will be inspired by a writing prompt. Because you know what? I miss those.
If you feel inclined to participate (which I really hope you do!), I’d love to see what this prompt yields for you, so PLEASE share yours here, on the Facebook page or just email it to me. It doesn’t have to be long. Just a short burst of what comes to mind.
Today’s writing prompt, picked at random, with special thanks to Pinterest.
“I turned into this a long time ago. It’s ok. I got used to it.”
She looked pretty standing in front of him with her long medium brown hair, skinny jeans, tank stop showing just a bit of cleavage and glossed lips. Or it’s supposed to be pretty, at least. But, something else was coming through. Once upon a time, there was a vulnerability about her that drew him in and it was soft, much softer than what she is now. The hair, the gloss, the clothes. It all seems to be the pieces of what should be part of someone beautiful, but he can’t see it anymore. It’s been so long now. Was it ever there? He can’t remember anymore. All he sees now is what she’s done.
All I ever was doing was trying to discover the answer… you know, to every modern vagabond’s dilemma. Certainly it wasn’t a mystery that the light demon dogma panty cat was out of the bag and all be exactly as it’s supposed to be. That women were holy souls worthy of being adorned with the finest jewels. That love and gold and love and food were clearly part of the point. And this idea of freedom in ever-present light reality so obviously necessary to pursue. Was there any choice?
Obviously there was no choice! LOL Love it, Keith!
