Let’s have fun this Friday… maybe? What I’m going to write about might make you laugh or get mad. I would love to know your take.
The story is that Marissa went over to Jesse’s house to pick up her coat that Jesse borrowed. While she was there Jesse reminded Marissa that she owed her money for that big group trip they had.
“Oh right! Let me get that to you right now! Who do you bank with?”
Turns out they bank with the same institution and it would take a quick minute for Marissa to transfer money right over to Jesse’s account.
Problem. Marissa left her phone in the car. “Can I borrow yours?”
“Of course, “ Jesse said.
Marissa logged into her account on Jesse’s phone, transferred the money and the deed was done. They hugged like good friends do, Marissa grabbed her coat and off she went.
A couple of weeks later as the two were out with some friends, Jesse commented on how much Marissa pays on her electric bill each month and how much she could save with a few tweaks.
“Huh?” Marissa was confused. “How do you know what I pay on my bill? I don’t usually discuss that kind of stuff with anyone.”
“Also, your savings account is so barren. You could spend way less on going out to all those restaurants and put a nice chunk away.” Jesse went on.
“Um, Jesse, where are you getting this information?”
“Oh you forgot to log out on my phone. See?” Jesse pulled out her phone and showed screenshots of Marissa’s transactions.
No need to go further on the story.
Jesse’s perspective: Marissa forgot to logout so shame on her. Free game.
Marissa’s perspective: Uh, does privacy still exist? She felt completely violated.
What do you think?
