If you’ve ever put your focus into something because you wanted it so bad, you know how powerful it can be. Likewise, if you’ve ever put your energy and focus about something negative, you know how that can grow as well. I have a practice every four weeks, where I revisit my desires and intentions. Honestly, it just makes me feel good and it reminds where I need to put more focus and maybe where I need to eliminate some things. Just a check in.
I have these two incredible friends that put together pretty much the coolest thing. They are a couple that just make you smile and feel all warm and fuzzy when you’re with them. All love. They create magic in so many ways and each hold their own extremely inspiring story. When Renee sent me a picture of what they were doing in a text, I wrote back immediately – I WANT IT!
It’s called the Me Mandala. A mandala is a spiritual circle that represents our universe. It symbolizes wholeness and even serves as a model for the organizational structure of life. If you know me, you know that balance and wholeness are of utmost importance to me and the way I get there is with organized structure. I love that this symbol signifies that the world really does extend beyond and within our bodies and our minds. And so in many traditions, the mandala is used as a spiritual guidance tool for focusing attention and even an aid to meditation.
I had to have this. And interestingly enough, I had just recently took to the practice of coloring… mandalas. The kids were intrigued and so when its time to just chill, we do it together. So relaxing.
But back to the Me Mandala. The process is simple and genius. Here’s what Renee and Akira do, they take your power words, which are your intentions for the year, and they make them visible by putting them into a sacred madala of nine circles. As they say, you are basically catalyzing your 2016 desires. I will definitely be doing this each year. The result is your beautiful mandala in one of two color schemes, designed and mailed to you. Here is mine in the crystal color scheme.
It’s currently waiting for a frame and once that frame comes, this piece will go up where I will see it daily. I also have it on my phone as a screen saver.
Everyone will have their own practice of how they come up with their words. For me, I did my standard goal setting for the year in January. I had each intention written out and then I associated a word with it and those became my power words.
But when it came and I unwrapped it, I took it a step further. I sat down again and started writing intention behind each word and what each word looked like to me. I know when I see those words what they represent and I can feel it and I think that is the most important aspect of achieving.
